How far would you go to follow your heart?

This week, I was able to catch "A Love Story". Wasn't too keen on watching it, especially after finding out from my newly discovered dance diva friend (Hi, Jemelyn Grace!) that it was a 2-hour film! But then again, it featured an interesting personality, so I gave it a shot.I like the film, but I'm not one to go into reviewing it or analyzing it too much, but here I am writing about this film.

When I watched a movie like this, I wonder if marriage is actually a blessing for the women in general. Why suffer and misery? Are we to be masochistic in love? Isn't love supposed to be something wonderful and fun, and marriage and family a joy?

I suspect there are too many martyrs of their own making. I meet people in real world whose self-esteem and confidence are so low, expectations so non-existent that they are willing to put up with anything.

The young talk of romantic love as if they know it best! The old talk of pragmatic goal much like they have lost faith in love.

Women dream of a family in picture-perfect sense. Men look for sex in progressive tense!

Is there a purpose in marriage? Should there be one? Is unplanned marriage more romantic than planned? How much thinking should be involved in decision? The bottom line for me is:If one does not have the ability to love someone unselfishly enough to protect and cherish her/him, to look after her/his best interest - sometimes above his/her own- and to do so for a lifetime, I don't think the relationship will last.

En route to sky, foreign land.

As our plane begun its last descent towards the NAIA I judged it was going to rain that day. Later however I realized it wasn't going to rain after all. The clouds which I took for rain clouds were actually smog hanging over skyline.

Fr. Daniel Patrick Huang, S.J. reminded me of one thing - life does not only consist of dreaming, hoping and looking forward to our final destination. It is also about looking around and responding to the needs in the here and now.

We are aware now, for instance, that the smoke and the waste gases that we send into the atmosphere produce smog that contributes global warming. Many ills in our society are partly of our own making. Therefore, the solution to such problems lies not up there but very much here with us. Let us therefore get back to work and get involved in the daily social realities that call us to live according to the values of the catholic church.

Hahhaha!! ACET. Magbabantay ako Lolz.. :))

Surprisingly when I woke up this morning, I received a text message from the Director for admissions of Loyola Schools. The funniest of all he already talked with EAA, because the director want / request me to attend a meeting for tomorrow.

The Director said:

You know, that you have really been in touch with God a lot more since that incident. Being faced with someone does something to you. I guess that's the silver lining right there. :)

I am fascinated by the fact that you're part of the school has been bring you so much challenge. Just this day, Father B and I inviting you to be one of the proctors for ACET on September. I discussed the other details for tomorrow.

Haha, I know the Father director was serious he doesn't invite me, he forced me to join the team. I couldn't say no, especially when he talked with EAA.
